In 1994, Viola, along with son Charles, established a gift agreement to benefit the people served by Hope Haven. The value of the gift increased dramatically over the years, thanks to both careful investment and generous provision of add-back interest. Viola died in 2006. While their gift's initial investment had been more modest, the gift has now grown and has become quite substantial.
Their son Charles has chosen to honor his parents with a named gift, an important part of Hope Haven's next major building project and capital campaign: The Viola L. & Calvin Dockter Visitor Center. The commitment and foresight of donors like the Dockters will support ongoing ministry growth for years to come. A gift that represents two generations in this one family has become a gift that will bless generations of people served for years to come.
